Greenhouse emissions due to the conference are estimated (final) hereafter, while following our computations. These emissions, i.e., 1530 tons of CO2 equivalent as an average, with 34% uncertainties, are reparted over many sources.

Transport to Lille is the main source (94%): 1431 t eq. CO2 (uncertainties: 33%). Other sources represent only 6% of total emissions: 99 t eq. CO2 (uncertainties: 51%) and are reparted as below:

  • Buildings (52 t eq. CO2, uncertainties: 60%), i.e., emissions due to using Lille Grand Palais and for the gala dinner,
  • Accommodation (23 t eq. CO2, uncertainties: 35%): hotels,
  • Food (19 t eq. CO2, uncertainties: 47%): lunches, regular and gala dinners, coffee-breaks, breakfasts.
  • Communication (4 t eq. CO2, uncertainties: 58%): paper printing, electronic mailing, information display on screen, web site, USB key gift,
  • Local transport (0.7 t eq. CO2, uncertainties: 21%): buses for the gala dinner, transport from hotel.

Please find below the average values without (up) and with (down) uncertainties.
