This international project, i.e., reforestation of a National Park of Argentina, will help to mitigate GHG emissions due to international transport:
  • International transport: 1860 tons eq. CO2 (1431 + 30% uncertainties),
  • Mitigated by 9900 young trees in Argentina (national park),
  • Funding: 11 084 € (no VAT required),
  • Local contact: Luis Da Silva (regular guest professor),
  • Previous successful experience in VPPC'10 (cf. below).

Summarizing, 7200 ha of forest destroyed by a violent fire outbreak in february 2008, Argentina, Chubut Province, Los Alerces Nacional Park. Since 2009, a reforest action is conducted with native species and foster recolonization by late succession species, in close collaboration with the school of the Park.
